Flowing Grace at The Melbourne Fashion Festival presented by Shop Til You Drop

The Melbourne Fashion Festival presented by Shop Til You Drop drove easy style in all the right fashionable ways on Saturday night’s runway. VAMFF is putting on another amazing spectacle at the Royal Exhibition building in Carlton.

The stylish magazine brought together some of Australia’s top designers. With designers from labels FINDERS KEEPERS, Keepsake and Isabelle Quinn displaying their forthcoming seasons. The trends that we have seen across the festival were on display in a clean and dreamy approach. Floral prints on flowing dresses, to velvet mini dresses. Lace matched with asymmetrical hem lines on cool and sophisticated silhouettes. Fantasy fashion was gracefully highlighted on the runway, with designs that could be easily included in an existing wardrobe.

With another packed house of guests viewing the show, Melbourne crowds gave an energetic response to the Shop Til You Drop designers. “I didn’t think I would go for the florals, but they were done so beautifully” Audrey from St Kilda said to Melbanight as the We Are Kindred designs were walking.

Melbourne women can expect easy glamour this season with asymmetrical and loose designs dominating the runway. Lace was again a standout on the runway, adding a beautiful mystery to some of the designs.

The colour palette ranged from blacks and greys to warmer and softer tones in the floral designs.

Melbournians, Sarah Jameson and Mary Cantanopolous, said to Melbanight they couldn’t wait to head over and buy some of the designs straight after the runway.

“One of the best things about VAMFF is that you can go and buy the designs right away. It makes it super easy to pick out what you want” Jameson said. “Yeah totally. I was writing down a list of what I want as the girls were walking back on the runway” said Cantanopolous.

Over the next week, close to 30,000 Melbournians will join in the Festival. Viewing 12 Runways, highlighting what’s in store for the next seasons. The Melbourne Fashion Festival (VAMFF) is now in it’s 21st year. Set in the stunning Melbourne Exhibition Building in the Museum precinct. There is tonnes on over the Festival, with multiple activities on at The Plaza. Even if you have no ticket to the Runway shows you can interact with the crowds and check out the Melbourne style on full display.
